The retreat

Slow down the pace of life, immerse yourself in deep connections and conversations with your colleagues who really get what it feels like to try and find balance in medicine. Through our expertly led and CPD approved educational program covering mindfulness, meditation, communication skills, compassionate boundaries and self care- we will guide to finding your flow and spark. The you behind the doctor.

While all Whole Hearted Medicine retreats focus heavily on guiding you towards mindful and sustainable self care in the busy world of medicine, this particular retreat does this with an emphasis on connection.

The most intimate of all our retreats, Lewellyn House offers immersive, small group learning with unparalleled access to authentic conversations amongst colleagues and with Emily.

The location

Established Circa 1861 by Daylesford’s first parliamentarian, Henry Wheeler, the property is rich in history. The home’s garden is said to have been planted alongside that of the Wombat Hill Botanic Garden by German-Australian botanist Baron Ferdinand Von Mueller. Located in that same premier Wombat Hill precinct, lodgers will find themselves across from the distinguished Convent Gallery, and not far from the centre of Daylesford proper.

Take the morning to sit and relax over a cup of tea in Lewellyn House’s secluded, green garden or in the living room where the sound of birds spill in from the garden. The living room is kitted out with a rustic Ned Kelly fire place, vintage leather armchairs and plush couches. Sketches and paintings hang on the walls, and natural light streams in through the windows looking into the garden. The house’s beautifully eclectic furnishings lend this historical Victorian building a modern edge. Charming decorations throughout add depth to every room. Light, plain walls open the space, while the brown tones of the darker wood furniture give the interior a sophisticated feel, creating a great environment for both recreation and work.

Lewellyn House is located opposite The Convent Gallery and Daylesford Botanical Gardens, a short stroll to the Main Street or Sunday Market.
